Thank you for taking an interest in your student's college experience! We are excited that your student is beginning a new journey at GSC! The goal of this website and of all of our family programming is to find the most effective ways to partner with you for your student's success. We will do our best to keep you up-to-date on happenings at GSC and to keep you informed about campus resources, important dates and deadlines, and other information that impacts your GSC student.

From the President

From the first contact with our Admissions Office to advisement, registration, pursuing an academic program, receiving tutoring and other academic assistance, becoming involved in student activities, attending special events on campus, and obtaining a degree, students will receive personal attention from our faculty and staff who are committed to student success. In 2006, we were named one of four community colleges in the country to receive an award for our "Best Practices" in Retention. This is due to the positive attitude of our faculty and staff toward students, their assitance outside of class, as well as quality classroom instruction.

GSC provides support for students through a number of divisions and programs offered on campus, including Counseling and Career Services, free tutoring services, Academic Advising, Student Development, and more! 

Get Involved

As a parent or family member of a GSC student, you are now part of the GSC community. We want you to know about the different events and activities we have available to students and community members, including plays from the award-winning Gainesville Theatre Alliance, fireworks spectaculars from the Alumni Association, and numerous other opportunities sponsored by the GSC Foundation. Another great way to stay informed is by joining the GSC families listserve. Monthly newsletters are distributed through the listserve as well as invitations to family focus groups and other family events. To join the listserve, please e-mail apelak@gsc.edu.
