Basic Transfer Information

If your student intends to transfer to another institution to complete their degree, the professional and faculty advisors at GSC advise that they begin to research senior institutions early in their college careers.

The Board of Regents has set up a transfer agreement policy for all University System of Georgia colleges and universities. This agreement is outlined at the following link:

http://www.usg.edu/academics/handbook/section2/2.04/2.04.04.phtml

Based on the transfer agreement policy, the core curriculum completed at one University of Georgia System institution is fully transferable to another System institution for the same major.  This means that students completing an Associate's Degree with GSC can transfer into another University System of Georgia institution as a junior in the same major. Students who plan to transfer should concentrate on completing the core curriculum at GSC. Click here to access the core curriculum.

Based on the same Board of Regents policy, areas completed at one USG institution will transfer to another USG institution. HOWEVER, this agreement does not guarantee the fulfillment of all college and university requirements or requirements for specific majors at senior universities.

You can help your student have a successful transfer experience if you encourage them to begin researching all possible transfer institutions as early as possible.
