The Advising Center’s Peer Advisor program supplements faculty and professional Academic Advising at University of North Georgia (Gainesville Campus). It plays an important role in the Academic Advising program and is an additional source of support and guidance for the UNG student body. The Advising Center’s Peer Advisors:
 
  • Assist with SOAR
  • Provide general academic information
  • Promote Academic Advising
  • Generally seek to enhance the first year experience of UNG students
  • Provide support to at-risk students
The Advising Center's Peer Advisors undergo intensive training the semester before participation, and on-going training throughout the course of their tenure to enhance leadership skills and to learn UNG policies and procedures.
